Meet the Owner

Inspiration in Work & Philanthropy:

As the owner of Paradise Mortgage, I find fulfillment in facilitating financing for all who aspire to own a home, providing the opportunity to do so. Every day presents an opportunity for growth and making a positive impact. I am particularly inspired by the prospect of creating meaningful change in Homelessness in America. Advocating for pathways to homeownership resonates deeply with me, fueled by my mother's struggles with mental ailments which resulted in homelessness during my formative years. In 2018, I founded a mortgage company in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and today we operate in 13 states.

Family & Job:

My two boys are my family, my anchors, providing unwavering support and love. It has mostly been the three of us, setting goals and accomplishing our dreams together. We would embark on journeys, aiming to achieve something, and a few months later, we would find ourselves well on our way. This summer, my son Dylan (age 22) was tragically lost to a vehicle accident, forever altering our lives. As Destin (age 17) and I navigate these new waters, his memory remains a guiding light for us. I will continue to strive for both my sons in all the roles I embrace: Mother, Writer, Mortgage CEO, Dweewoo Inc, Business Consultant, Health Enthusiast, and Brand Deals

Favorites:

• Movie: My go-to movie for inspiration is “Good Will Hunting”. It’s a film about overcoming fears, taking ownership of one’s life, and conquering obstacles to achieve all goals.
• Place to Travel: Philadelphia holds a special place in my heart. My boys and I lived here for 2 years while growing our mortgage company. The city of brotherly love is rich in American history, diverse cultural backgrounds, and unique infrastructure. It will always be a place we consider home.  
• Way to Spend a Sunday: Sundays are best spent however you choose. Whether it's napping with hot tea, cleaning the house, climbing trails in the woods, swimming at the lake, or shopping—I enjoy just going with the flow!
